Most people find me through a referral or an advertisement. When they call, the first thing I usually tell them is to take a few minutes and look through the galleries on the website.
Photography is a very personal choice. If you like the work, then we should talk about your event. If the style is not what you are looking for, you should absolutely hire someone whose work you truly like.
I don’t believe in sales talk or trying to convince someone to hire me. The work should speak for itself. I would rather lose a booking than have someone hire me and later feel disappointed.
If I am available, I will accept a last-minute booking. I’ve left for jobs on very short notice before. My family is very forgiving and understanding.
That said, the sooner you book, the better. As soon as you know the details of your event, it makes sense to secure your vendors.
Once the photographer is booked, that’s one less thing to worry about while planning the celebration. Why procrastinate when you already know you are having an event and you know you want a photographer?
If you like the work and I’m available, hire me and lock in the date. Waiting only increases the chance that someone else may reserve it first.
The conversation is simple and relaxed.
I’ll ask a few questions so I can understand your event and what kind of coverage you need. Usually that includes things like:
Based on that information, I can recommend how much photography coverage you will likely need and whether one photographer or more would make sense.
Sometimes I’ll also ask which other vendors you’ve hired. Often I’ve worked with them before, which helps everything run smoothly.
My pricing is mainly based on how much time is needed for coverage and how many photographers are required.
Once I understand the schedule and structure of the event, I can recommend the appropriate coverage and give you a clear price.
After decades of photographing events, I have a pretty good sense of how long things typically take.
Every event is different.
Some events need just a few hours of coverage, others require most of the day. Some need one photographer, others need two or more.
Rather than forcing everyone into a rigid price list that may not match their event, I prefer a quick conversation so I can recommend coverage that makes sense.
I also try to be reasonable and flexible when possible. My goal is to find something that works for the client and the event.
Yes and no.
My starting point is usually photography coverage only. That includes:
From there, clients can decide what they want to do about prints or albums.
Some people prefer to design their own albums using the digital images and avoid large studio markups. Others prefer a more traditional approach where I help design and produce albums.
Both options are available. Albums and printed products can be added either when you book or after the event.
Prints can be ordered directly from the gallery, or if you prefer a more personal touch, I’m happy to help guide the process.
Yes.
Over the years I’ve built a network of trusted colleagues whom I’m comfortable working with. We’ve worked together many times and operate as a cohesive team with the same discipline, approach, and work ethic.
When additional photographers and videographers are needed for larger events, I bring in people who know how I work and who maintain the same standard of professionalism.
Events sometimes run a little longer than expected.
I jokingly tell people that I look at my watch to admire it, not to charge by the minute.
With many years of experience photographing events, I understand the natural flow of things. If an event runs slightly past the expected end time, I’m generally there to continue covering it.
My goal is to make sure the event is documented properly, not to nickel-and-dime someone over a small amount of extra time that doesn’t really make a difference.
The exact number depends on the type and length of the event, but typically clients receive several hundred carefully edited images.
My goal is to document the event completely without overwhelming you with unnecessary duplicates.
You will receive high-resolution digital images and access to a private online gallery hosted on my website.
From the gallery you can:
The process is simple and convenient.
Yes, that’s perfectly fine.
Just please be mindful not to interrupt the workflow or slow things down too much. Portrait sessions are usually scheduled within a specific time window, and we don’t want to hold up the event.
Also keep in mind that sometimes I may need you in the photo you’re trying to take.
As long as people aren’t getting in the way or disrupting the process, they’re welcome to take pictures. In fact, I may even pose the group for you.
At the same time, please be respectful that sometimes a newly married couple may want a little privacy and prefer that only my team photograph them during certain moments.
Yes.
Because I’ve photographed so many events, I can often help clients think through the timing of portraits, family photos, and key moments.
A good timeline keeps the event flowing smoothly and helps make sure nothing important gets missed.
My approach is simple: I try to understand what the client wants and deliver exactly that.
I recommend the coverage that makes sense for the event rather than trying to sell unnecessary services. I don’t push upgrades or extras unless the client specifically asks for them.
While creativity and artistic photography are important, my main focus is the client. I want to create images that people will actually appreciate, print, and enjoy years later.
Some photographers focus heavily on creating dramatic images mainly for their own portfolio or social media. My focus is different. I want to document the event properly and give the client photographs that truly matter to them.
If the client is happy and feels their expectations were met or exceeded, then I’ve done my job.
Yes.
I tell clients very simply: if you genuinely do not like the work, you do not have to pay the remaining balance.
In all the years I’ve been doing this, no client has ever asked to waive the balance because they were unhappy.
My goal is always to deliver work that people are excited about.
Yes.
The deposit acts as a reservation or booking fee that secures the date and time for your event.
Once the date is reserved, I commit that time exclusively to you and decline other inquiries for the same date.
If an event is cancelled, the deposit refund is handled at my discretion.
The purpose of the deposit is to reserve the date and protect the time set aside for your event. When I commit to a date, I am turning away other potential work for that time.
That said, I try to handle cancellations fairly and reasonably whenever possible.
